Hoppy Easter!!

I realize we all look like we are in pain, with the exception of Hope, but at least we are all looking at the camera!

My mom would always put these curlers in Katie and I's hair when we were little so yesterday I went and bought some and thought we would give them a try.

It is kind of hard to tell, but Sydney had all of her curlers stay in except the one in the very front. She has a habit of twirling her hair while she sleeps. I wish I could have seen the wrestling match with the curler in the middle of the night.

The finished product turned out pretty darn cute if you ask me:-)

Today is my birthday and I have no idea why my computer is underlining everything I am writing but oh well I guess. There was some breakfast in bed this morning:) unfortunately I was just the provider instead of the recipient. This darling little monster gets to enjoy breakfast in bed every morning!

Happy Halloween! We always end our night at Ty's parents and it is never disappointing, yummy chili, treats and company!

This is a pic of all the kids at a little halloween party. We took about a dozen pictures, Hope was fine at first but if you notice in the next picture she wasn't waiting to eat her treats any longer.

I love this picture it is the classic attitude of guys getting their pictures taken.

I had to post these pictures, I love them, it was the cutest sight the other morning to watch them all from my bed.

Get out the tissues Aunt Rebee. Our darling Chloe cousin left us to go live in Kentucky about a month ago, these pictures were taken right before they left. I think there little faces describe how we were all feeling. You really want me to smile about the fact that we are leaving eachother?

Hope is so sad she checked out to her happy place, one binky in the mouth the other binky at the nose.

They are too darling and have too much fun together to not start smiling eventually:)

Hope's birthday was on the 21st of October, I had my darling neighbor make the barbie cake this year. Hope loved it! She had been talking about her barbie cake for weeks.

Hope blowing out her candles. She blew them out at least three times before the song was over. Ty just kept lighting them as fast as she would blow them out.

We were trying to convince her to just dig in with her hands, but she wouldn't do it, she wanted a fork.

As soon as she got a taste of the frosting she warmed up real quick and started to dig in.

She is in the can't stand my hands messy phase.

Funny little story about Sydney, we were eating breakfast the day after Hope's birthday and Hope was opening up another birthday card. Sydney who is sitting next to her utters the words, "Why does it make me so mad when it is somebody else's birthday?"

This little darling boy is almost 3 months old! At his 2 month check up he weighed 14 lbs. 11 oz and was 24 inches tall. He is a big big cutie.

I decided to shave his little head just like his dad's a couple day's after his blessing. I love it.

A few big things have happened since my last post. Sydney learned how to ride her bike without training wheels!! It only took her about 2 hours of riding before she figured it out. I was and am so proud of her.

And this little chica decided she wanted to be potty trained against my wishes mind you. It took her about 2 weeks to get it all figured out. She loves hangin with her dad.

Sorry these pictures are in the wrong order. Ty decided to take them for a ride on his motorcycle. Syd was nervous but ended up loving it. She wants to go all the time. Hope enjoyed it but not as much as Syd.

Hope and her gum. I am pretty sure that gum is one of her most favorite thing's in the whole world.

Zachary has survived the first 4 weeks of his life with too many close calls to count but nothing that has left him permanently damaged. This little darling below (yes that is her new favorite place to store her gum) had a rough first week but is doing better and better everyday. She loves him too death:)

Sydney loves to hold him face to face as demonstrated below. I prefer she hold him the other way but I have realized recently that my requests are merely just that, requests, which they choose to not follow 90% of the time.
This is the gratefully not too little, little man of the house. He is so much fun! I wish I could spend all my time just enjoying him instead of playing rodeo clown but what fun would that really be right?

Zachary Tyson was born on April 19 at 6:10 pm. He weighed 9lbs 8 ozs and was 21 1/2 inches long. He is such a sweet little babe. It is a complete circus act around here at the moment. Going from 1 to 2 was a walk in the park. 2 to 3 has been a completely different story. As soon as I can get my feet under me more I will update with some pics. Until then these are some my brother took when he was 3 hours old.

Just in case you might be assuming I have had this enormous child I have not. Apparently I make a great oven. I am hoping to have some pictures of a really cute healthy "little" baby boy to post about sooner than later. Until then I will continue to sprint up the stairs every 5 minutes while watching tv at night, raking pine needles, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, going on walks, and every other thing people have suggested to get your kid out.

So I have been setting myself up for major disappointment. Hope came 2 1/2 weeks early and wasn't nearly as large or as low as this baby has felt. I thought for sure that my chances of a repeat were pretty good. So I went to my 36 week check up last wed. and I was dilated to a 2. Which I was happy with seeing I still had a week and half before I thought he might come. So I had my 37 week check up yesterday. They say that a Full moon, a storm or having you know what can all be great inducers of labor. Well I had all three working for me. (That would be part of the info some of you might not of wanted to know.) So I was pretty confident that I was going to be at least a 3. I was a 4 at 37 weeks with Hope.

So I am in a student program because I don't know why, so the student checks as well as the mid wife. The mid wife went first just so she could guide the student along. So after the student checks they are talking and I ask so....? They say well you are still very thick and dilated to a 1/2. That took a minute to digest. So you are telling me that last week I was a 2 and now I am not even a 1. I didn't even realize such things were even possible. Apparently this darling little baby is all ready letting me know about how much control I have.

So I have switched gears I have changed to the numb checked out this kid isn't coming out for a while so I will go to the library get some good books and find joy in the fact that the only thing I can do for recreation is eat:)

When Ty was little he was given the nick name "Ty Bear" because he was so chubby and big. I assumed that this is what they meant by big and chubby. His parents informed me however that as chubby as Hope was she still wasn't as big as her daddy was. I have to admit that I am afraid of being on the news here in a couple of weeks for being the first white women to deliver an 18 pound baby!

My life right now consists of every article of clothing being made of a stretchy material and I walk like a have a watermelon between my legs. I have a friend that is due just 4 days after me with her 3rd as well. At the beginning of this pregnancy she mentioned that her thoughtful husband made the comment that he thought this pregnancy was going to be the "body breaker" I didn't know that he was talking about me. My friend still looks great, she carries her babies high and doesn't have a single stretch mark. I on the other hand have felt ready to deliver for about 3 months now. I am afraid that his head is going to come out totally jacked up from being in the birth canal since 20 weeks. My pregnancy with the girls was a breeze! I never felt like this with them not even right before delivery. I have waddled for ever and I swear my hips are so jacked up I need to wear one flat shoe and one shoe that is atleast 2 inches taller. I weigh a pound more now then I did at delivery with both of them and I still have 9 weeks to go. My little sister and my sis in law had their babies about 3 weeks ago on the same day both darling healthy little boys. I have to admit that I thought I would feel very sad for myself but I really am not ready for him to come out yet. I am ready to be able to bend over and sleep without having to wake up every time I need to roll this body over. (I need one of those handles that hang from the ceiling like you see in the hospital that would really be helpful.)

I have to say that I am grateful that I can have babies. It is an amazing experience it has just never felt like this big of a sacrifice before. I am very excited to have this baby in the spring instead of the cold winter like my girls.

A baby Boy!!! Sydney was so excited to find out that it was another sister. She has been adament the whole time that is was going to be a girl. So when I sat her down and explained to her that she was going to have a baby brother her very excited face melted very quickly into sobs. She explained to me that boys aren't pretty. I told her that he could be a prince and that she could help name him. For whatever reason that did the trick and she has been happy about him coming ever since.

We were trying to decide if the costumes from last year were maybe still going to work for this year. I know kind of sad but I am pregnant and very much in to doing as little as possible. Any way this was Hope's from last year and Syd had to try it on. I was laughing so hard so thought I would share.

This was at the AF Highschool the night before. It was seriously lame (thanks Adam and Julie) The girls still had a lot of fun.

Our first stop on Halloween was to our ward trunk or treat. It was the most beautiful weather I think I have ever seen on Halloween. This is the girls having to squint from the sun!

I am realizing that I didn't really get any great pics of Syd's costume. She and her best friend Tu Tu were butterflies.

This is Hope on the way to our next stop. My parents trunk or treat up in Alpine. She could not eat her candy fast enough.

The girls up in Alpine. This was a short lived trunk or treat. Notice Hope decided to take care of Sydney's Halloween bag. Syd didn't really even go up to anyone's trunk but you can bet that Hope did. It is so funny how fast they pick up on the Halloween get free candy concept.

Our final stop was our favorite Halloween Stop. Nana's!

This was one of our friends daughters. Her costume is my absolute favorite, I don't think it will ever be beat.

Hope and Syd were so excited to see cousin Chloe. I am sad that I don't have more pictures of Nana's. There was so much yummy food to eat. Hot chili along with a yummy pasta dish, doughnuts, caramel apples, soda, and lot's of yummy candy. This might be one of the reasons it is my favorite stop, and probably why I didn't really take any pictures. I was too busy eating.

At the end of the night Syd's tutu was driving her nuts, so cousin chloe gladly took it off her hands. Apparently she has worn it everyday since. It was a really fun Halloween. Hope all of yours was just as fun!

Sydney took swim lessons a couple of months ago and Hope decided that on this day she was not going to be left behind, so she got her swim stuff on all by herself.

Chloe stayed at our house from Fri to Sat and didn't know that Sat. was cougar day! Her facial expression is awesome. "Tell me again why I am wearing this?"

The best little friends in the whole world.

For swim lessons Syd was terrified to blow bubbles in the water so I thought we would start smaller. This is Hope laughing at her because she can't do it. Just kidding I have no idea what Hope is laughing at and she probably doesn't either.

I was very proud of Syd, she was able to blow bubbles in the pool after this small exercise in bravery.

One day we were a little bored so we decided that it was Charlie's birthday. We made him a delicious cake that I didn't really plan on him eating, but Syd certainly planned on him eating it.

Oh the blog. I have so many pictures from this summer that I thought I would just try to condense and give a summer overview.

We enjoyed a lot of sun!

Purchased some new fun scooters.

Had a wonderful 4th of July. We went to the Freedom Parade. Not sure why but that is what we did:)

Nana Loo's Birthday Bash

I am way behind on my posting my mother-in-laws birthday was June 14. We had such a fun party. This first picture is of Sydney asking Uncle Scotty if Nana's surprise is here.

The back porch was decorated so cute.

The surprise that Syd was asking Uncle Scotty about was this darling beach cruiser. Nana was so surprised and just loved it.

Nana makes these darling birthday crowns for everyone to wear on their birthdays. I am glad she got to wear one as well.

Instead of candles her cake had two sparklers on it. It was such a fun and enjoyable day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA!!

The Olympic Tri

My wonderful parents and brother Joel came along with me on my journey to St. George to do this tri I have been training for. My brother Joel took a bunch more pictures but I haven't gotten them yet so I thought I would just post the iphone pics.

My thoughts going into this event were. The swim is going to be easy, the bike is going to be a blast, and the run is probably going to kick my trash.

We are all happily sitting in the water when the dude with the mega phone without any warning yells GO!!!! We all take off and it took me about 30 seconds to realize that I couldn't breathe. It was awful! I totally panicked and could not get my breathing to slow down. I was 2 seconds from swimming over to the boat and calling it quits when this darling girl next to me asked if I was ok. I answered between pantings that I thought I was having some kind of panick attack. She said I am too and I never do, anyway she talked to me long enough for me to realize that I didn't need to be rescued and that I could do this. I proceeded to try swimming mostly flailing for the rest of the swim. I tried the breast stroke and felt like I was going backwards then I tried some side swim thing that worked ok but I decided that the back stroke was my best bet. At one point I heard this kind gentlemen say ma'm ma'm your a little off course. I look up and find that I am a lot off course. Any way what I thought would take me about 30 min took me 51 min. I was so exhausted and grateful to be alive by the time I got out of the water.

I look like I got a nice face lift thanks to my cap.
I was so happy to get on my beloved bike. I was able to pass a couple of people but for the most part was all by myself. There were only 32 girls out of 300 people that did the Olympic distance. So there weren't a lot of girls to ride with. Any way it was actually really cool to just be all alone and push myself to the limit.

The bike ride went really fast and then came the run. The run was actually 100% easier then I thought it was. Thanks to the swim of death.
I was grateful that there were still people at the end of the race. I figured they would have all packed up and gone home.
Here I am looking out at the water thinking what the crap was that all about?

I started at 7:30 and finished at 10:50. 1 mile swim, 24 mile bike ride, and a six mile run. It was an awesome accomplishment for me. I felt like it helped me realize that there really isn't anything I can't do if I just put my mind to it. I know that anyone reading this can do it too. So get your bum out there and start getting ready, you and me same time same place next year!!!!!!!

A century what?

This is my awesome friend Kim who I owe my bike riding obsession to. We were on a ride last tuesday and she mentioned that she needed to take it easy because she was going to do a century on Sat. For those of you who are not obsessed with biking a century is 100 miles. Kim did a few centuries last year and I remember thinking that is something on the list of not worth it will never do right next to a marathon. But for some reason it all of a sudden sounded like a really fun idea. All I did was mention it and it took Kim about thirty seconds to say will you go if I pay for it? Hmmmmmm You betcha, so off we went saturday morning starting at 7:30 a.m. I honestly can say that it was one of the greatest times I have ever had. It is amazing to push your body to the limits like that.

This picture was taken at the end. I think we look like we could go at least 100 more.

Along the way I was too prideful to ask them to take a rest so I just started trying to hit stuff so I could pop my tires. Just kidding you would have thought that was what I was doing but no. The first time I hit some sheet metal and slaughtered my tire. We had to back track 4 miles to the previous rest stop, on a tire that Macgyver Layne and Kim jimmy rigged for me with a plastic wet wipe wrapper. Scored big time by getting a free new tire and a new spare tube. Off we went again and about 7 miles away from the next stop guess who gets another flat. Me, I was a little afraid that Layne and Kim were just going to keep riding and leave me to fend for myself, which I wouldn't have blamed them, they both bloodied their fingers trying to get my new tire off while I watched on. Layne and Kim never let me change my own tire. (Maybe it is because I never volunteer who knows.) About 40 miles, 3,000 bugs and a lake that smells like the worst Hopey diaper ever I got another one:) Luckily this one wasn't totally flat, Layne was sitting on the grass holding my tire and I swear he had to be saying a few unpleasant words in his head, I know I would have, when he yells at these two riders going by asking if they had a pump and low and behold they did. So after a 10 min bicep burning pumping session Layne put my tire back on and off we went to finish without any more incidents.
The above picture was taken at Flat #3 I think. Layne and Kim you two are so freaking awesome. I love riding with the two of you. You take such good care of me when we go on rides and I just think you are two of the greatest friends a person could ever have. Thanks for an awesome ride!!!!!!

Lot's of fun in the Arizona Sun

More pictures from our very short but very fun filled trip to Az. Hope has been not very nice to her cousin Chloe in the past. In fact they needed constant supervision. This trip we had a few rough moments but mostly just fun moments.

Charee and Tanner have this killer park just a few miles away from where they are staying. They have ducks and fountains and lots of grass with a fun play ground as well.
People told me how fun it would be to have more children to see how different they are from eachother. Sydney and Hope couldn't be more different when it comes to doing adrenaline rushing type of activities. I would try to swing Syd when she was younger and she hated it she would just cry the whole time. She still doesn't really like it. Hope on the other hand likes it a lot. Her aunt Rebee who is kind of a dare devil adrenaline junky herself is the one pushing her, encouraging her to embrace the adrenaline rush feeling. I think they might be two pea's in a pod when it comes to this kind of thing.

Catch me if you can Aunt Rebee I am headed straight for the water.
Then there is my little Sydney bean who is as cautious as they come when it comes to everything except animals that is. Her Nana confessed to me that she was much the same way. No wonder they are such good buddies.

Seriously her face says it all. I guess this is how Hopey decided to let out all of her energy after a very long car ride.
She was picking up the sand and just squeezing it so hard between her fingers.
No she did not fall over, she jumped onto the sand and started rolling around and giving it loves.
It was so dang funny to watch her. She went nuts.

He didn't like that one so much and I think he let her know.

But then again it is her favorite kitty and she is sure he didn't mean to hurt her.

If you notice Charlie's ears are bent back in what I now know and recognize as a pre pounce posture.

Poor Hopey didn't know what hit her and neither did I. This is Charlie who had, had enough and decided to try a submission hold of his own. He grabbed her around the neck and pulled her to the ground. I couldn't decide if I should laugh or get mad at the cat.

It took Hope maybe one minute to stop crying and then she went right back after him. I think she tortured him for a good twenty minutes before he decided he was done. She still loves him to pieces and thinks that they are best friends.

Happy 3rd birthday Sydney Hannah Lewis

This is Sydney's darling birthday crown made by her Nana Loo

The Killer barbie cake was her mother's touch. The truly killer cup cakes was the Nana's touch.

So strangely as soon as she blew out the candles she ripped barbie out of the cake and decided to lick the frosting off of a very interesting part of barbie.

She also ripped her arms off they must have been getting the way.

This is Gavin my friend Ashley's little boy. He is very secure in his manhood. He was the only Prince who came to the Princess party and loved every minute of it.

Thanks to Nana we always have some of the most darling things to make her birthday that much more fun and special.

Sydney wanted a doll that could talk for her birthday, this was the first gift she opened and I was afraid it was going to be the last. I couldn't get her to open anything else. Luckily she has some great friends who decided to pitch in and help her open some of them.

Sorry I have been such blog slacker I know have a lot of fans that really look forward to me posting. Just kidding. Anyway my very kind and very generous parents took me and all of my siblings plus spouses on a cruise this year for Christmas. It was sooooo much fun. It was kind of difficult leaving the girls for nine days and being unable to communicate but some how I was able to drowned any worries I might have felt in all of the free food!!! I am posting a picture from the very beginning of our trip this was about an hour before we walked on the boat apposed to rolling off of it a week later. It was a lot of fun to spend that much time with just Tyson and I and to spend time with my siblings. I have a new brother in law that we haven't really been able to spend a whole lot of time with, so it was especially fun to get to know him more. The strange thing is it feels like he has been in the family forever! My parents had invited some friends to go with them and all of us and the husband took over 1,500 pictures while we there. Hello, we were sick of taking pictures and we didn't even take any. We are supposed to be getting a cd of all of them so I will have a lot more to post later and I mean a lot more.

So my Sydney girl is trying to stop taking naps during the day. It has been a very long journey for the both of us. I have surrendered the idea a couple of times and 2 weeks ago I decided to surrender again and not try to force the nap thing. So mon she falls asleep around 4:00 watching cartoons and then she does the same thing on tues. So in my wisdom I think fine she obviously still needs a nap tomorrow she is going to take one no matter what. So Wed I am ready for battle, I will show no mercy, I will not give up until she is asleep. Well after about an hour and half I surrender. As she is enjoying her victory she asks me a simple question and I answered her back not very nice apparently because her comment back to me was "ok mom we need to help you be happy" Then she proceeds to ask me if I need one of her treasured stuffed animals to help me be happy. I think that a bucket of ice cold water would have been less of a shock then to hear her say that to me. The whole rest of the day I did some major thinking and praying. I realized that too many times lately I feel like her and I are in some kind of battle. She is realizing more every day that she has agency. I used to put her cereal in front of her and she would eat it happily, and a million other things that she would just do happily. The other day I asked her to eat her cereal and she said very kindly "I don't have too." Uummmmm your right but do it anyway. So anyway to make a long story short I decided that I was at a major fork in the road. I could continue down the path I was on which I am pretty sure was going to lead me to many years of wishing that my daughter would talk to me, and wishing that she would listen and respect my opinion, or I could remember that she is still a child and I don't need to teach her how to be everything I want her to be every second of every day. If I want her to be loving and patient to her sister Hope I should probably set a much better example of that. If I want her to show compassion when her sister is being a stinker and crying because Syd did something or took something, perhaps I should try showing Syd a little compassion when she is being a stinker. If I want her to respect others opinions maybe I should try respecting hers. I also know that it is my responsibility to teach her and not to let her do whatever she wants but that is a much finer line then I ever thought it would be. My plan is to live so I can be worthy of the promptings that I so desperately need to help keep me in the right place as her mother. Someone who she knows loves her, and respects her, and cares about her, and has compassion, who is constant, patient, and charitable. No pressure right:)

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and had lot's of yummy food to eat just like Hope. It was so fun to spend so much time with family. My sister Katie and her hubby Clint came into town from Pennsylvania and it was such a blast to see them. It was so fun to have Charee home again obviously:) It was fun to have our daddy home a lot. I think Sydney got her fill of her dad anyway. We were in the car and she asked me where her daddy was and I told her that he was at work and that it was kind of sad that he couldn't be home with us and she replied; No it is not, it is not sad mom. I can't believe Christmas has all ready come and gone but is sure was a good one. We were taking all of our Christmas decorations down and Sydney looked at her dad with a really sad face and said I miss kissmas. It was so cute. Lucky for Sydney we went to Nana's a couple of days later for our usual yummy Sunday dinner and Christmas was still at Nana's. In fact I over heard Sydney say to her Nana "Nana let's go kiss under the mistletoe!" Hope is informing me at the moment that it is time to get off the computer. Happy New Year everyone.

So I really want to update my blog I am just having a hard time doing so. So I am the hardest person to surprise with a gift in the whole world but Tyson was able to successfully surprise me with the canon camera of my dreams. It has been a little intimidating but I am so excited about it. So I have to say that my amazing Sydney girl is potty trained, sleeps in a big girl bed, and ditched the bink ( during the day anyway, I don't have the heart to take it away from her when she goes to sleep yet!) She is so much fun I thought she talked a lot before but now that she doesn't have to talk around her bink she talks all the time and sings even more of the time.

Charee and her darling family moved away on Mon. I have had the funnest couple of day's with Charee and Chloe, Charee would come over around 8:30 and we would play all day and all night. I really am going to miss them. I am so proud of them for having the faith and trust to embark on such a journey. I know that they are going to be blessed and become even more of an awesome little family.

I am in the Young Women right now and I love it. It has been totally intimidating but I have learned so much. It is pretty cool to have the opportunity to try and influence people when they are at such a crucial time in their lives. If any of you have any idea's that you would like the youth to hear about let me know I would love the input. Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving Day!!

So something that I found a little humorous happened the other day. I have been wondering if I should share it or not because some people might be offended but oh well I guess. So I was sitting on the toilet taking care of business and talking to my older brother Kurt. He was telling me the address to some place he wanted me to go, in the meantime Sydney is in the bathroom with me of course singing me happy birthday as I take care of business. Anyway I inform Kurt that he will have to text it to me later because I am on the pot and I can't write it down. Then it hit me that he probably still get's to go to the bathroom all by himself and he unfortunately probably never gets happy birthday sung to him while he is going to the bathroom. I think that he was pretty jealous. Being a mom is so wonderful isn't it.

I have no idea why I can sometimes download a million things in 15 minutes and then times like right now all I want to do is download two pictures and it is taking an eternity. So sorry this update is so lame. Hope turned one on the twenty first of October, it was a tuesday which is the night that Tyson works late so I usually go up to my mom's to hang out. We decided to make Hope a cake even though we were going to officially celebrate her birthday the following Sunday. Anyway after Hope blew out her candle Sydney had to blow it out as well at least three times. I don't have any pictures of Hope eating her cake right now. My Brother has all of them at the moment.

I have a camera that is supposed to be a good camera but it makes me want to say not just one swear word but a whole slew of them every time I take a picture. This is Chloe and Hope. So they are going to move very far away from us in about 3 weeks. I am so excited for them because I believe that it is the right thing for them to do but I will miss them terribly. If any of you have seen the movie The Holiday I am pretty much Cameron Diaz when it comes to how beautiful she is I mean when it comes to her inability to cry and I almost cried today talking to Charee about them moving. This is Charlie the cat that kind of dropped out of heaven if you ask Sydney. We have no idea who he belongs to or where he came from but he is the sweetest cat I have ever met. He will let Sydney and Hope do about anything to him. Sydney is pretty much scared of everything except for animals. She won't go down the big slide at the park but she would give a bear a great bear hug any day of the week. So if this blog thing will cooperate here are some following examples of the magnificent patience of our cat Charlie. Tyson and I think that he must smoke a lot of cat nip or something he is way too chill. (Sorry I uploaded the wrong video, more is hopefully coming.) It sounds like Hope says Charlie name if you listen close.

I just had a very depressing moment, I thought that I could maybe cinderella for halloween since I have this really fluffy prom dress from highschool. I totally thought that it was going to fit and maybe even fit me better then when I was in highschool. Well that dream was shattered it not only doens't kind of fit it just doesn't fit. I hope that it is either one of two things, my little sister borrowed it and had it tailored, or my boobs have just become much much bigger since highschool.

Hope turned one on the twenty first of october so I will post some pictures of that soon. I am totally freaked out right now because I need to take away my two year olds binky, and I really need to potty train her, and I need to put her in a big girl bed. I have realized that she was probably ready for all three of these things awhile ago but I am so not ready and I need to be. It is really hard to make my kids do hard things I have decided. So Hope has been acting like she was going to walk any day now for at least a month. This was taken about a week ago and finally the last two days she has taken off. She is about as steady as a person after drinking a whole 24 pack, but she is doing it. I am so happy. I love it when they start walking. It is so nice to get them off the ground. We have ruined a lot of pants outside on the grass and the cement.

So I have been thinking that I would have taken a picture of my new favorite thing by now so that I could post it, but I haven't so I will just tell about it. About 2 months ago a new friend of mine Kim talked my neighbor Tina into doing a 20 mile road race who in turn talked me into it. To make a long story short I ended up spending a lot of money on my new best friend. I bought myself a road bike. I basically feel like you haven't lived until you own a road bike. I have never had so much fun exercising in my whole life. I will thank Kim everyday for a long time for getting me into it. I recommend it to everyone I know. The whole thing is, is that if you want to love it, you have to go big or not at all. You need to spend money on a good bike, good spandex, (make that great spandex), the shoes, and the clip in's. The clip in's are a little scary at first, but one fall and you realize it doesn't hurt that bad. It has been the best therapy for me ever. Just be prepared for your spouse's to get a little jealous about how much time you will want to spend with your bike. Actually that is why I went for it. I was Jealous of Tyson and his bike and since he spent a lot more money on his it was that much easier for me to spend the money on mine.

So it has been an eventful last month for the Lewis Fam. Tyson purchased a motorcycle about 2 months ago and has had the time of his life fixing it up and going for rides with his brother and brother-in-laws. I was a little jealous of the bike at first because he was more excited to come home to his bike then he was to come home to us:) Or it at least seemed that way. Anyway he had just finished getting all of his after market parts on when a lady in a SUV decided to pull out right in front of him. He slammed on his brakes and started to skid and then the front tire caught and launched him over the handle bars. He caught himself with his hands and then at one point he thinks he tried to run which would explain his torn plantar fascia on his right foot.

I was making dinner and he had called me to tell me that he was leaving and would be home soon. Then 15 min later his phone called me and all I could hear was the noise of traffic. My first thought was that his phone accidently called me, but then of course I thought or he is dead on the road. I hung up and then he called me right back, this time he was on the other line and told me that he had been hit. So I hung up with him and called my neighbor to come watch the girls, she asked me if I needed a ride and i said no I will be fine. FYI next time someone offers I will accept. On the way to him all of a sudden my arms started to go numb and I could feel myself going in to shock. I realized that people can do some pretty crazy things on adrenaline and I hadn't really gotten any details about his injuries. So of course I start imagining that one of his legs is gone or maybe an arm, by some miracle I made it and found him sitting on the grass just off the road with his hands all bandaged and all of his limbs in place.

His helmet literally saved his life. The cops told him that if he hadn't been wearing it he would easily have been on the life flight helicopter instead of getting in the car to go home with me. We know way too many people who do not wear helmets. Tyson was as safe as anyone could be on his bike. He never went faster then the speed limit, he always wore his helmet, he followed all the rules and was very aware of cars around him, he would even say a prayer before he ever got on his bike. Thanks to his paranoid wife. Anyway my point being that if you think you don't need to wear a helmet because you are smart and safe and it will never happen to you, you are fooling yourself. Tyson was so lucky and we consider ourselves 100% blessed. He had some pretty painful road rash and his foot is in a removable boot but other then that he is going to be a ok.

I have tried to upload this video forever. Hope has been crawling for about 3 weeks now. She loves it, she also really enjoys being able to pull herself up to things. Sydney however doesn't think that it is all that great. Hope is always grabbing her toys or getting in her way. I hope that they can some day become better friends. Yesterday Sydney pushed Hope over I asked her not to do that then she pushed her again a minute later and then she helped her up so that she could push her over again. Tell me what a mother is supposed to do with that.

I decided to make some rolls for the first time in my life from scratch and I had left the pan on the counter and I was turned around doing something as I looked back I saw sydney running out of the kitchen with something in her hand. She had grabbed a whole uncooked crescent roll and was on her way to the family room to eat it. I thought that I had caught her before she had eaten one but when I went to put it back on the pan I discovered that she had all ready gotten away with half of one. I thought that she would be sick later but the kid has a stomache like a grown man and had no problems.

Aunt Charee got 2 baby ducks and a baby chick from her neighbor and brought them to the fun easter egg hunt in Nana Loo's backyard. Sydney named the two baby ducks mommy and daddy and then the baby chick was the baby. She absolutley loved them but at the same time was terrified to hold them. She would hold her hands out and the minute she touched it, she would pull her hands away. It was so fun. Nana Loo got her this killer skirt for her birthday.
